Ad Sales Survival Guide

Hi everyone!

Below you can find all the ad sales information:) If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Best,

Elizabeth St. Louis (Vice President)

● Find a local business:
Research businesses in Framingham or neighboring towns. If there are any
businesses that your family has connections to, that would be a good place to start. If you don’t have connections, no worries! There are plenty of businesses to choose from.

● Print the ad forms:
Before heading off to sell your ad, print the ad cover letter and ad form. Make sure on the ad form you write your name on the “Advertisement Salesperson/Student
Name” line, so when a business submits their advertisement, we know you sold it! If you aren’t able to print them, please come and talk to me!

● Sell the ad:
When asking a business to purchase an ad, I recommend going to the business in-person vs sending an email. You will have a higher chance of selling the ad if you go in-person. Make sure to bring the ad cover letter and ad form with you! Once you are at the business, introduce yourself and explain why you are selling the ad and what it is for. Something along the lines of: “Hello, my name is _________. I’m a part of the Framingham High School Drama Company. We’re selling ads to support our upcoming season and I’m wondering if you are interested in buying one that will go in our program?”

● If a business says yes:
     ○ Thank them and hand them the cover letter and ad form. Once you pass these two papers over, you are all set and the business will take it from there!
● If a business says no:
     ○ Don’t be discouraged, this happens all the time! Thank them anyway and find another business.

Best of luck with your ad sales!
